We got a Christmas Tree today. Julian is finally old enough that he really appreciates it. We will be in Utah for Christmas so we went ahead and got a real Christmas tree today. We also have a little 24 inch fiber optic tree that we put in Julian's room. He loves and can't stop staring at it. It took him almost 45 minutes to go to sleep tonight because he wanted to play with it. My family has a tradition that each year we all get ornaments for Christmas. I've been collecting since my first Christmas in 1983 and now have enough to decorate an entire 6-7 foot tree. Julian has been collecting them since 2006 (his first Christmas wasn't until 2007, but the grandparents were excited). I really enjoy decorating the tree and remembreing each ornament and how much I love each one. There is an obvious transition from young child to adult and it's fun to see that. It'll take a few weeks for Julian to become fully accostomed to the tree, but he had a great time setting it up and making it pretty.

I wish we could have a real tree! We have also started the same tradion of buying an ornament for each year.
