I'm running in my first 5K on July 4th, the Provo Freedom Run. I'm a little nervous, but pretty excited as well. The course is a bit easier then the one I've been running the last few weeks so hopefully that will be a good thing. And, I've been running 3.5 miles, a 5K is only 3.1 miles and although it's not that much of a difference, it's a difference nonetheless. I haven't competed in anything sports related since High School when I was swimming 5-6 days a week. At that point I placed 8th in state for the 100M butterfly... which killed me. Hopefully I'll do better in the race! And on another topic of good news, I'm down 8 lbs so far this month... I'd like to lose at least another 8 before we get back to Alaska in August :) I can do it! YAY FOR ME!
Ok selfish time is over.

Good job Sam! It's so hard to lose baby weight. I have about 6 more pounds to lose to get at the weight I was before I had JD. Not that it is my ideal weight, but it's much closer to my ideal weight than 2 months ago. Good luck on the 5 k
WOW!! I had no idea you were planning on running a 5K! I'm proud of you and envious that you are able to do that! It's time for me to get on the ball. I bet you'll do great. We'll be in Idaho during the 4th or I would be at the finish line cheering you on!
Wohoo! I've noticed that you have been looking a bit trimmer lately! Beware of that 5 K course, because the last 1/2 mile is up hill, and that's way hard, but I know you'll do great!
Good tip, thanks Geneen. I'm going to run the course tomorrow morning, we'll see how it goes :) Thanks ladies... I appreciate the encouragement.
Great job on your running!!
That is amazing! I'm jealous of your desire to even want to run, outside, in the heat...uhgh!
Good luck to you!
Go Sam!!
