Father's Day

I don't think that Father's Day gets enough attention. Honestly. Generally I don't think that the men in our lives get enough positive encouragement, uplifting speeches, kind words, and gratitude. I have several men in my life that have been great examples to me, but today is about honoring our fathers and the fathers of our children.

I have a father that loves me, no matter what. He forgives me when I make a mistake, he still guides me and encourages me. He is willing to share wisdom when needed. He is my friend, and that makes me happy. He also is head over heels in love with his grandkids and just mentioning something new they are doing makes him happy. You should see the smitten look he gets on his face when he sees Tennyson and Julian say Grandpa! It's adorable. He's awesome, and I love him.

My husband is more then I could have ever wished for, and is more then I ever thought I was worthy of. He knows me better then I know myself and he allows me the freedom and encourages me to explore new things, try old things, and to just sit. In fact, over the years that is one thing that I have learned from him; the importance of sitting, listening, pondering, being with your thoughts, with the Spirit, and taking a break. He is the love of my life and an amazing father to my children. I am so blessed to be his eternal companion.

Happy Father's Day. I love you.
