Julian turned 5 in March. He weighs 44 lbs (75%) and measures 46 inches tall ( 97%).
I made him a pinata. After it was finished I realized that it looked more like a prison pinata then a pirate pinata.
Originally I was going to make a pirate ship cake. But he found this cake (or one similar) in a magazine and he wanted it. It's a pirate map that ends in a partially buried treasure chest filled with gold pieces.
The kids played while we waited for everyone to show up.
Once we everyone we started on the treasure hunt.
The first find was a necklace made from skulls and crossbones.
Next we found pirate bandanas, pirate swords and eye patches.
The last treasure find was a pirate hat. They were super easy to make, jusy felt and hot glue.
Our pirates were so cute!
Once everyone was decked out we went on a search for the birthday pinata.
I think the kids had a blast.
After we played at the pirate ship for a while we went back to hit the pinata,
open presents,
and eat cake.
