Finally!

JD's brother Nick and his wife Becki started fostering these two wonderful little boys, Alvin (left)and Paul (right), in December 2006. At the time they were 18 months and 2 and 1/2 (Alvin being older). It is now 2 and 1/2 years later and today Nick and Becki were able to adopt Alvin and Paul. They will be sealed together on August 7, 2009. The boys will be 4 and 5 in about 2 weeks and they are absolutely wonderful little boys.

I feel very grateful right now for the strength that the Lord has given Nick and Becki (and our families) during the last few years. It has been a struggle, but today and in the weeks and years to come it will all have been worth it. No matter how your children come to you all the pain, struggles, trials, frustration, etc all seem to melt away when they are finally in your arms and you know they are yours forever. Today has helped to remind me in a very real way how the Lord answers our prayers and that it is on his timeline, not ours. He knows what we need and he also knows what will strengthen us.
